How to convert NEAR Protocol to GNEAR

The widget above is already set to NEAR on NEAR → GNEAR on NEAR. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor that holds your NEAR. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on NEAR for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much NEAR to swap and the NEAR address that receives the GNEAR, from a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor. The widget shows how much GNEAR you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on NEAR, solvers fill the swap and the GNEAR is sent to your address on NEAR. If the swap can't be filled, your NEAR is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds NEAR to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the GNEAR to an exchange instead, check that it accepts GNEAR on NEAR: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the NEAR → GNEAR swap

NEAR and GNEAR both live on NEAR, so you pay and receive on the same network. NEAR Intents still routes the trade through its solver network, which means you get a competitive quote without picking a DEX or an aggregator yourself.

Meme tokens move fast and can swing widely within minutes, so the quote shown in the widget is valid only for a short window. Check the amount you will receive right before you confirm.

About NEAR Protocol and GNEAR

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What is GNEAR (GNEAR)?

GNEAR launched on 15 October 2024 on meme.cooking, the NEAR meme launchpad, as meme #229. Its whole pitch is to be cheerful: 'Whether you're trading, staking, or just sipping your coffee, $GNEAR is here to brighten your day.' On X, the @GnearAi account speaks as 'your buddy Gnear'. The token metadata on chain uses the lowercase name gnear.

How GNEAR works

GNEAR is a plain NEP-141 token with no mint function. Its meme.cooking round reached the 500 NEAR hard cap within an hour and launched straight away, with about half the tokens going to depositors and half into a Rhea Finance pool whose LP shares are locked.

What GNEAR is used for

It is traded as a NEAR community meme. No utility, roadmap or product has been published.

GNEAR supply

A fixed 1 billion GNEAR were minted at launch, with no team allocation.

Before you swap GNEAR

Check the contract gnear-229.meme-cooking.near, since explorers show the ticker in lowercase. Liquidity sits in a small Rhea pool, so prices move quickly and large orders face heavy price impact.

What to know before swapping NEAR Protocol for GNEAR

Use the widget on this page, already set to NEAR on NEAR → GNEAR on NEAR: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your NEAR address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the GNEAR to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
