What is Pepe (PEPE)?
Inspired by the Pepe the Frog internet meme, PEPE is an Ethereum token released in mid-April 2023 by an anonymous team. It has no company, roadmap of products or formal utility behind it, and it presents itself openly as a meme coin.

How Pepe works
PEPE is a plain ERC-20 token with no buy or sell tax. Contract ownership was renounced at launch, so the code cannot be changed, and the liquidity-pool tokens created for most of the supply were burned, leaving that liquidity permanently in place.
What PEPE is used for
People use PEPE almost entirely for speculative trading and as a badge of membership in meme-coin culture. It is widely listed on centralized exchanges and sits in many Ethereum DEX pools, which is where most of its liquidity is found.
PEPE supply
The supply was fixed at 420.69 trillion PEPE at launch, with no presale, no team mint afterwards and no function in the contract that could create more tokens.
Before you swap PEPE
Meme tokens can move sharply within minutes, so refresh the quote right before you confirm and keep the slippage you accept in mind. Delivery is on Ethereum, so use an Ethereum address you control.
