What is Sweat Economy (SWEAT)?
SWEAT is the token of Sweat Economy, the crypto project behind the Sweatcoin step-counting app. Its token generation event took place on the NEAR blockchain on 12 September 2022, letting app users mint SWEAT from the steps they walk.

How Sweat Economy works
The app verifies users' steps and converts that activity into SWEAT through a minting curve that gets harder over time: at launch 1,000 steps minted one token, and the step requirement has risen steadily since. The token lives natively as a NEAR fungible token, with bridged versions on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and BNB Chain.
What SWEAT is used for
Users earn SWEAT for physical activity and can hold, stake or spend it inside the Sweat Wallet app, but the Sweat Foundation has announced that the app, step-based minting and its in-app services end in their current form on 30 December 2026. The token itself stays on NEAR and still trades on NEAR DEXs.
SWEAT supply
Sweat Economy describes emissions as uncapped, with new tokens created by movement, rising minting difficulty slowing issuance and project-funded burns reducing supply. Minting for movement is scheduled to end with the current model on 30 December 2026.
Before you swap SWEAT
The widget settles SWEAT on NEAR, so the destination should be a NEAR account (named or implicit). Tokens still locked or staked in the Sweat Wallet app must be released there before they can be swapped.
