How to convert NEAR Protocol to Monad

The widget above is already set to NEAR on NEAR → MON on Monad. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor that holds your NEAR. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on NEAR for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much NEAR to swap and the Monad address that receives the MON, from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. The widget shows how much MON you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on NEAR, solvers fill the swap and the MON is sent to your address on Monad. If the swap can't be filled, your NEAR is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds NEAR to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the MON to an exchange instead, check that it accepts MON on Monad: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the NEAR → MON swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your NEAR leaves NEAR and MON arrives on Monad. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is MON on Monad, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both NEAR and MON float against the dollar, so the NEAR/MON rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About NEAR Protocol and Monad

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What is Monad (MON)?

Monad is a layer-1 blockchain that runs Ethereum smart contracts at much higher throughput, and MON is its native token. The network and the token launched together on 24 November 2025. Core development is led by Category Labs, the company formerly called Monad Labs, while the Monad Foundation supports the ecosystem.

How Monad works

Validators stake MON and agree on blocks with MonadBFT, a Byzantine fault tolerant consensus protocol. Execution runs asynchronously behind consensus and processes transactions in parallel while keeping their order in the block, so the chain produces blocks and reaches finality in under a second while remaining compatible with Ethereum wallets and tools.

What MON is used for

MON pays for gas on every Monad transaction and can be delegated to validators to earn a share of block rewards. It is also the main base asset for trading and DeFi apps on the network.

MON supply

The initial supply at mainnet launch was 100 billion MON. New MON is minted with every block as a staking reward, adding roughly 2% of the initial supply per year, while the base fee of each transaction is burned.

Before you swap MON

MON arrives at a standard 0x address on Monad mainnet (chain ID 143), so make sure your wallet has that network added. Monad also keeps a 10 MON reserve rule: a transfer that would leave less than that can fail if the same wallet sent another transaction a few blocks earlier, so space out back-to-back transactions when emptying a wallet.

What to know before swapping NEAR Protocol for Monad

Use the widget on this page, already set to NEAR on NEAR → MON on Monad: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Monad address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the MON to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
