How to convert NEAR Protocol to Starknet

The widget above is already set to NEAR on NEAR → STRK on Starknet. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor that holds your NEAR. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on NEAR for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much NEAR to swap and the Starknet address that receives the STRK, from a Starknet wallet such as Braavos or Xverse. The widget shows how much STRK you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on NEAR, solvers fill the swap and the STRK is sent to your address on Starknet. If the swap can't be filled, your NEAR is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds NEAR to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the STRK to an exchange instead, check that it accepts STRK on Starknet: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the NEAR → STRK swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your NEAR leaves NEAR and STRK arrives on Starknet. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is STRK on Starknet, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both NEAR and STRK float against the dollar, so the NEAR/STRK rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About NEAR Protocol and Starknet

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What is Starknet (STRK)?

Starknet is an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by StarkWare, whose alpha went live on Ethereum mainnet in November 2021. STRK is its native token: ten billion were minted on-chain on 30 November 2022, and they pay for fees, secure the network through staking and carry votes on protocol upgrades.

How Starknet works

Starknet is a validity rollup: it batches transactions and proves them with STARK proofs that are verified on Ethereum. Contracts are written in Cairo, and every account is a smart contract. Since the v0.14.0 upgrade in September 2025, several sequencers produce blocks using a consensus protocol, and STRK and BTC stakers attest to blocks as part of a phased move to staking-based consensus.

What STRK is used for

Since v0.14.0, STRK is the only token accepted for Starknet transaction fees. Holders also stake it or delegate it to validators for rewards, and vote directly or through delegates on protocol upgrades.

STRK supply

Ten billion STRK form the initial supply, with investor and early contributor tokens unlocking monthly until March 2027. There is no hard cap: the protocol mints new STRK as staking rewards under a schedule agreed with the community.

Before you swap STRK

Starknet addresses also start with 0x but are longer account addresses, so copy the one from your Starknet wallet; an Ethereum address will not reach it. A new account can receive STRK before it is deployed and gets deployed with its first outgoing transaction, which needs STRK for the fee. STRK also exists on Ethereum and Solana, but here it moves on Starknet.

What to know before swapping NEAR Protocol for Starknet

Use the widget on this page, already set to NEAR on NEAR → STRK on Starknet: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Starknet address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the STRK to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
