How to convert NEAR Protocol to USAD

The widget above is already set to NEAR on NEAR → USAD on Aleo. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor that holds your NEAR. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on NEAR for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much NEAR to swap and the Aleo address that receives the USAD, from an Aleo wallet such as Shield or FoxWallet. The widget shows how much USAD you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on NEAR, solvers fill the swap and the USAD is sent to your address on Aleo. If the swap can't be filled, your NEAR is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds NEAR to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the USAD to an exchange instead, check that it accepts USAD on Aleo: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the NEAR → USAD swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your NEAR leaves NEAR and USAD arrives on Aleo. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is USAD on Aleo, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Swapping NEAR to USAD converts a volatile asset into a dollar-pegged stablecoin, a common way to lock in a price or step out of market swings without off-ramping to a bank account.

About NEAR Protocol and USAD

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What is USAD (USAD)?

USAD is a dollar stablecoin on Aleo, a zero-knowledge layer-1 blockchain, issued by Paxos Labs, a spinout of Paxos. The Aleo Network Foundation and Paxos Labs announced it in October 2025, its token program was deployed on Aleo mainnet in January 2026, and the public mainnet launch followed in February 2026.

How USAD works

USAD is created from USDG or USDC deposited on Ethereum and represented on Aleo as shares of an Ethereum vault holding USDG, the Global Dollar Network token issued by Paxos Trust Company. On Aleo, addresses, amounts and balances can stay encrypted, while a compliance service holds a view key for lawful requests and the token program enforces a freeze list.

What USAD is used for

The issuers pitch USAD at confidential payroll, business payments and treasury management, where companies do not want salaries or supplier terms visible on a public ledger. The payroll provider Toku uses it to pay teams privately.

USAD supply

There is no fixed cap. USAD is minted against deposits and redeemed for USDG on Ethereum, and the USDG behind it is backed by US dollar deposits and short-term Treasuries with monthly third-party attestations.

Before you swap USAD

USAD is delivered on Aleo, so you need an Aleo wallet such as Shield and a little ALEO for network fees. It targets the US dollar, so swaps from other dollar stablecoins should price close to parity, but liquidity is thinner than for USDC or USDT, so check the quote.

What to know before swapping NEAR Protocol for USAD

Use the widget on this page, already set to NEAR on NEAR → USAD on Aleo: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Aleo address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the USAD to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
