How to convert OKB to Ethereum

The widget above is already set to OKB on X Layer → ETH on Ethereum. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect any EVM wallet such as OKX Wallet or MetaMask that holds your OKB. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on X Layer for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much OKB to swap and the Ethereum address that receives the ETH, from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. The widget shows how much ETH you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on X Layer, solvers fill the swap and the ETH is sent to your address on Ethereum. If the swap can't be filled, your OKB is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds OKB to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the ETH to an exchange instead, check that it accepts ETH on Ethereum: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the OKB → ETH swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your OKB leaves X Layer and ETH arrives on Ethereum. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is ETH on Ethereum, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both OKB and ETH float against the dollar, so the OKB/ETH rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About OKB and Ethereum

What is OKB (OKB)?

OKB was launched in 2018 by OKX, then called OKEx, as the utility token of its exchange and was originally issued on Ethereum. In August 2025 OKX made it the only gas and native token of X Layer, its own Ethereum layer-2 network, and began phasing out the Ethereum version.

How OKB works

X Layer went live in April 2024 as a zkEVM built with Polygon's CDK. It has since moved to the OP Stack, a migration Optimism announced in December 2025, and now runs as an optimistic rollup with one-second blocks that settles to Ethereum through Polygon's AggLayer. Every transaction on X Layer pays its gas in OKB.

What OKB is used for

OKB covers gas fees on X Layer and serves as a base asset for the DeFi, payments and trading apps built there. On the OKX exchange it has long been tied to perks such as trading fee discounts.

OKB supply

In August 2025 OKX burned 65,256,712 OKB accumulated from past buybacks, upgraded the token contract to remove its mint and burn functions, and fixed the total supply at 21 million OKB. OKT, the coin of OKX's older OKTChain, was converted into OKB as that chain was retired.

Before you swap OKB

OKB here is the native coin of X Layer (chain ID 196), received at a standard 0x address. OKX no longer supports OKB withdrawals to Ethereum, so make sure the receiving wallet or exchange expects OKB on X Layer rather than the old ERC-20 version.

What is Ethereum (ETH)?

Ether (ETH) powers Ethereum, a programmable blockchain proposed by Vitalik Buterin in 2013 and launched in July 2015 by a group of co-founders. Rather than acting only as money, Ethereum runs smart contracts, which let developers deploy applications that execute exactly as written.

How Ethereum works

Since the Merge in September 2022, Ethereum has been secured by Proof of Stake: validators lock up ETH, propose and attest to blocks, and can lose part of their stake for misbehaviour. Every operation on the network costs gas, paid in ETH: the base fee is burned, while validators receive a priority fee for including transactions.

What ETH is used for

ETH pays for transaction fees and is widely used as collateral in decentralized finance, from lending protocols to decentralized exchanges. Holders also stake it to help secure the network and earn protocol rewards.

ETH supply

Ether has no fixed maximum supply. New ETH is issued to validators, while the base fee of every transaction is burned under EIP-1559, so net supply can rise or fall depending on network activity.

Before you swap ETH

Make sure your withdrawal goes to an address on Ethereum mainnet and not to a layer-2 or another EVM network that uses the same address format. Gas prices on Ethereum fluctuate with demand, which can affect the cost of moving ETH in or out.

What to know before swapping OKB for Ethereum

Use the widget on this page, already set to OKB on X Layer → ETH on Ethereum: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Ethereum address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the ETH to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
