How to convert OKB to NEAR Protocol

The widget above is already set to OKB on X Layer → NEAR on NEAR. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect any EVM wallet such as OKX Wallet or MetaMask that holds your OKB. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on X Layer for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much OKB to swap and the NEAR address that receives the NEAR, from a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor. The widget shows how much NEAR you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on X Layer, solvers fill the swap and the NEAR is sent to your address on NEAR. If the swap can't be filled, your OKB is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds OKB to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the NEAR to an exchange instead, check that it accepts NEAR on NEAR: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the OKB → NEAR swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your OKB leaves X Layer and NEAR arrives on NEAR. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is NEAR on NEAR, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both OKB and NEAR float against the dollar, so the OKB/NEAR rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About OKB and NEAR Protocol

What is OKB (OKB)?

OKB was launched in 2018 by OKX, then called OKEx, as the utility token of its exchange and was originally issued on Ethereum. In August 2025 OKX made it the only gas and native token of X Layer, its own Ethereum layer-2 network, and began phasing out the Ethereum version.

How OKB works

X Layer went live in April 2024 as a zkEVM built with Polygon's CDK. It has since moved to the OP Stack, a migration Optimism announced in December 2025, and now runs as an optimistic rollup with one-second blocks that settles to Ethereum through Polygon's AggLayer. Every transaction on X Layer pays its gas in OKB.

What OKB is used for

OKB covers gas fees on X Layer and serves as a base asset for the DeFi, payments and trading apps built there. On the OKX exchange it has long been tied to perks such as trading fee discounts.

OKB supply

In August 2025 OKX burned 65,256,712 OKB accumulated from past buybacks, upgraded the token contract to remove its mint and burn functions, and fixed the total supply at 21 million OKB. OKT, the coin of OKX's older OKTChain, was converted into OKB as that chain was retired.

Before you swap OKB

OKB here is the native coin of X Layer (chain ID 196), received at a standard 0x address. OKX no longer supports OKB withdrawals to Ethereum, so make sure the receiving wallet or exchange expects OKB on X Layer rather than the old ERC-20 version.

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What to know before swapping OKB for NEAR Protocol

Use the widget on this page, already set to OKB on X Layer → NEAR on NEAR: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your NEAR address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the NEAR to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
