How to convert Safe to NEAR Protocol

Converting SAFE to NEAR on NEAR Mobile Swap is done in three simple steps through the NEAR Intents protocol: Deposit, Swap, and Withdraw.

Step 1 — Deposit SAFE from Ethereum
Go to the Deposit tab and select Safe (SAFE) on Ethereum. The widget will generate a deposit address (or QR code) — send your SAFE there from any wallet. Once the deposit is confirmed on Ethereum, your SAFE balance appears inside NEAR Intents.

Step 2 — Swap SAFE to NEAR on NEAR Intents
Switch to the Swap tab, pick SAFE as the source and NEAR as the target. Enter the amount and confirm — solvers compete to fill your order and the swap settles in seconds.

Step 3 — Withdraw NEAR to NEAR
Finally, go to the Withdraw tab. Select NEAR Protocol (NEAR) from your NEAR Intents balance and choose NEAR as the destination. Enter an address from a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor and confirm.

⚠ Important: When entering a withdrawal address, make sure it is a personal wallet you control. Some centralized exchanges do not support receiving funds from smart-contract-based deposits — sending to an exchange address may result in lost funds.

About the SAFENEAR swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your SAFE leaves Ethereum and NEAR arrives on NEAR. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is NEAR on NEAR, not a wrapped copy you have to bridge again.

Both SAFE and NEAR float against the dollar, so the SAFE/NEAR rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About Safe and NEAR Protocol

What is Safe (SAFE)?

Safe, formerly Gnosis Safe, is smart-contract wallet infrastructure that began at Gnosis in 2018 and became an independent project in 2022. The SAFE token was created in September 2022 and became transferable in April 2024 after a governance vote.

How Safe works

A Safe account is a smart contract that requires a set number of approved signers before it executes a transaction, and it can be extended with modules and guards. SAFE token holders govern SafeDAO, which steers the ecosystem, its treasury and its grants.

What SAFE is used for

Holders use SAFE to vote on SafeDAO proposals and to lock tokens in programs that reward ecosystem participation. It is also traded on Ethereum and Gnosis Chain.

SAFE supply

Total supply is fixed at 1 billion SAFE, all minted at creation and distributed to the community, core contributors, investors and the foundation.

Before you swap SAFE

You can withdraw SAFE on Ethereum (gas in ETH) or Gnosis Chain (gas in xDAI); they use different contract addresses, so pick the network your wallet expects.

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while 70% of transaction fees are burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What to know before swapping Safe for NEAR Protocol

Deposit SAFE from Ethereum into NEAR Intents, swap it for NEAR, then withdraw NEAR to your wallet on NEAR. The widget on this page walks you through all three steps and shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
