How to convert USAD to Ethereum

The widget above is already set to USAD on Aleo → ETH on Ethereum. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect an Aleo wallet such as Shield or FoxWallet that holds your USAD. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on Aleo for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much USAD to swap and the Ethereum address that receives the ETH, from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. The widget shows how much ETH you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on Aleo, solvers fill the swap and the ETH is sent to your address on Ethereum. If the swap can't be filled, your USAD is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds USAD to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the ETH to an exchange instead, check that it accepts ETH on Ethereum: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the USAD → ETH swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your USAD leaves Aleo and ETH arrives on Ethereum. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is ETH on Ethereum, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Swapping USAD to ETH is how you buy Ethereum with US dollars you already hold on-chain: you pay in a stablecoin and receive ETH directly on Ethereum.

About USAD and Ethereum

What is USAD (USAD)?

USAD is a dollar stablecoin on Aleo, a zero-knowledge layer-1 blockchain, issued by Paxos Labs, a spinout of Paxos. The Aleo Network Foundation and Paxos Labs announced it in October 2025, its token program was deployed on Aleo mainnet in January 2026, and the public mainnet launch followed in February 2026.

How USAD works

USAD is created from USDG or USDC deposited on Ethereum and represented on Aleo as shares of an Ethereum vault holding USDG, the Global Dollar Network token issued by Paxos Trust Company. On Aleo, addresses, amounts and balances can stay encrypted, while a compliance service holds a view key for lawful requests and the token program enforces a freeze list.

What USAD is used for

The issuers pitch USAD at confidential payroll, business payments and treasury management, where companies do not want salaries or supplier terms visible on a public ledger. The payroll provider Toku uses it to pay teams privately.

USAD supply

There is no fixed cap. USAD is minted against deposits and redeemed for USDG on Ethereum, and the USDG behind it is backed by US dollar deposits and short-term Treasuries with monthly third-party attestations.

Before you swap USAD

USAD is delivered on Aleo, so you need an Aleo wallet such as Shield and a little ALEO for network fees. It targets the US dollar, so swaps from other dollar stablecoins should price close to parity, but liquidity is thinner than for USDC or USDT, so check the quote.

What is Ethereum (ETH)?

Ether (ETH) powers Ethereum, a programmable blockchain proposed by Vitalik Buterin in 2013 and launched in July 2015 by a group of co-founders. Rather than acting only as money, Ethereum runs smart contracts, which let developers deploy applications that execute exactly as written.

How Ethereum works

Since the Merge in September 2022, Ethereum has been secured by Proof of Stake: validators lock up ETH, propose and attest to blocks, and can lose part of their stake for misbehaviour. Every operation on the network costs gas, paid in ETH: the base fee is burned, while validators receive a priority fee for including transactions.

What ETH is used for

ETH pays for transaction fees and is widely used as collateral in decentralized finance, from lending protocols to decentralized exchanges. Holders also stake it to help secure the network and earn protocol rewards.

ETH supply

Ether has no fixed maximum supply. New ETH is issued to validators, while the base fee of every transaction is burned under EIP-1559, so net supply can rise or fall depending on network activity.

Before you swap ETH

Make sure your withdrawal goes to an address on Ethereum mainnet and not to a layer-2 or another EVM network that uses the same address format. Gas prices on Ethereum fluctuate with demand, which can affect the cost of moving ETH in or out.

What to know before swapping USAD for Ethereum

Use the widget on this page, already set to USAD on Aleo → ETH on Ethereum: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Ethereum address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the ETH to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
