How to convert USDCx on Aleo to NEAR Protocol

The widget above is already set to USDCx on Aleo → NEAR on NEAR. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect an Aleo wallet such as Shield or FoxWallet that holds your USDCx. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on Aleo for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much USDCx to swap and the NEAR address that receives the NEAR, from a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor. The widget shows how much NEAR you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on Aleo, solvers fill the swap and the NEAR is sent to your address on NEAR. If the swap can't be filled, your USDCx is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds USDCx to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the NEAR to an exchange instead, check that it accepts NEAR on NEAR: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the USDCx → NEAR swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your USDCx leaves Aleo and NEAR arrives on NEAR. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is NEAR on NEAR, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Swapping USDCx to NEAR is how you buy NEAR Protocol with US dollars you already hold on-chain: you pay in a stablecoin and receive NEAR directly on NEAR.

About USDCx on Aleo and NEAR Protocol

What is USDCx on Aleo (USDCx)?

USDCx is a dollar stablecoin on Aleo, the zero-knowledge layer-1 network, backed one-for-one by USDC held in Circle xReserve. It is not native USDC: Circle issues USDC, while USDCx is a USDC-backed token that Aleo launched using xReserve. It went live on testnet in December 2025 and on mainnet in January 2026.

How USDCx on Aleo works

To mint, a user deposits USDC into the xReserve contract on Ethereum or Arc; Circle attests the deposit and the Aleo bridge program mints USDCx. Burning USDCx on Aleo releases USDC on those chains. On Aleo, sender, receiver and amount are encrypted by default, but private transfers also create a compliance record for a designated address, and a freeze list blocks sanctioned addresses.

What USDCx is used for

Aleo and Circle position USDCx for payroll, vendor payments, remittances, aid distribution and DeFi, where people want dollar settlement without publishing balances and counterparties. Launch partners included the payroll provider Toku.

USDCx supply

There is no fixed cap. Supply rises when USDC is locked in xReserve and falls when USDCx is burned to withdraw it, keeping a 1:1 link with the USDC in reserve.

Before you swap USDCx

USDCx is delivered on Aleo, so you need an Aleo wallet such as Shield and a little ALEO for fees. Its privacy features only apply on Aleo; USDCx on Movement is a separate token. It targets the US dollar, so swaps from USDC or USDT should price close to parity.

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What to know before swapping USDCx on Aleo for NEAR Protocol

Use the widget on this page, already set to USDCx on Aleo → NEAR on NEAR: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your NEAR address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the NEAR to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
