How to convert OKX Wrapped BTC to NEAR Protocol

The widget above is already set to xBTC on Solana → NEAR on NEAR. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect a Solana wallet such as Phantom or Solflare that holds your xBTC. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on Solana for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much xBTC to swap and the NEAR address that receives the NEAR, from a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor. The widget shows how much NEAR you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on Solana, solvers fill the swap and the NEAR is sent to your address on NEAR. If the swap can't be filled, your xBTC is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds xBTC to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the NEAR to an exchange instead, check that it accepts NEAR on NEAR: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the xBTC → NEAR swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your xBTC leaves Solana and NEAR arrives on NEAR. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is NEAR on NEAR, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

xBTC is a tokenized version of another asset, so its price tracks its underlying rather than NEAR. Swapping between xBTC and NEAR changes both your exposure and the network your funds live on.

About OKX Wrapped BTC and NEAR Protocol

What is OKX Wrapped BTC (xBTC)?

xBTC is a wrapped version of bitcoin issued by the OKX exchange. It launched on 22 May 2025 on Solana, Sui and Aptos, and the OKX product page now lists X Layer as well. The aim is to let BTC holders use their coins in on-chain apps on those networks while keeping bitcoin price exposure.

How OKX Wrapped BTC works

OKX holds the reserve. Withdrawing BTC from an OKX account to a supported chain delivers xBTC one-for-one, and depositing xBTC back to OKX converts it to BTC. OKX says the reserves are fully in its custody and verifiable through on-chain Proof of Reserves, and that the token contracts were audited by CertiK, MoveBit, MixBytes and Zellic.

What xBTC is used for

On Solana, xBTC gives users a bitcoin-priced asset for lending, liquidity pools and trading against other Solana tokens. It also lets OKX customers move BTC exposure on-chain without a third-party bridge.

xBTC supply

There is no fixed cap or emission schedule. Supply expands and contracts as customers convert between BTC and xBTC through OKX, matched 1:1 by the exchange's bitcoin reserves.

Before you swap xBTC

xBTC is a custodial token, not native bitcoin: its backing depends on OKX, and redeeming it for BTC requires an OKX account. On Solana it is a standard SPL token (not Token-2022) with 8 decimals, and OKX keeps a freeze authority over it. Keep a little SOL for fees and token-account rent, or pick BTC as the output if you want coins on the Bitcoin network.

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What to know before swapping OKX Wrapped BTC for NEAR Protocol

Use the widget on this page, already set to xBTC on Solana → NEAR on NEAR: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your NEAR address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the NEAR to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
