How to convert NEAR Protocol to TAU Lending Optimizer on Taler

The widget above is already set to NEAR on NEAR → TLO on Ethereum. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect a NEAR wallet such as NEAR Mobile or Meteor that holds your NEAR. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on NEAR for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much NEAR to swap and the Ethereum address that receives the TLO, from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. The widget shows how much TLO you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on NEAR, solvers fill the swap and the TLO is sent to your address on Ethereum. If the swap can't be filled, your NEAR is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds NEAR to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the TLO to an exchange instead, check that it accepts TLO on Ethereum: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the NEAR → TLO swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your NEAR leaves NEAR and TLO arrives on Ethereum. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is TLO on Ethereum, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both NEAR and TLO float against the dollar, so the NEAR/TLO rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About NEAR Protocol and TAU Lending Optimizer on Taler

What is NEAR Protocol (NEAR)?

NEAR Protocol is a smart contract platform co-founded by Illia Polosukhin and Alexander Skidanov, with its mainnet going live in 2020. The network focuses on usability, offering human-readable account names such as alice.near instead of long hexadecimal addresses. It is also the chain behind NEAR Intents, the cross-chain swap system that NEAR Mobile Swap uses.

How NEAR Protocol works

Validators stake NEAR in a Proof of Stake system to produce blocks and confirm transactions. Nightshade sharding splits the network into parallel shards that process transactions side by side, which lets capacity grow as more shards are added.

What NEAR is used for

NEAR is spent on transaction fees and contract storage, and it is delegated to validators by holders who want staking rewards. Developers also use the chain for decentralized apps, AI agents and chain abstraction tools that operate across several blockchains.

NEAR supply

NEAR started with a genesis supply of one billion tokens and has no hard cap. New tokens are minted each epoch to reward validators, with the maximum annual inflation rate halved from 5% to 2.5% in October 2025, while at least 70% of every transaction fee is burned.

Before you swap NEAR

When withdrawing to NEAR, you can send to a named account (like name.near) or to a 64-character implicit account, so check you have the correct one. Keep a little NEAR in your wallet to cover gas and storage for future transactions.

What is TAU Lending Optimizer on Taler (TLO)?

TLO is the share token of the TAU Lending Optimizer, a vault built on Taler, a protocol that provides infrastructure for curated on-chain yield. The vault was deployed on Ethereum in May 2026 and accepts USDC. Taler states that its contracts were audited by Quantstamp between March and April 2026.

How TAU Lending Optimizer on Taler works

Depositing USDC mints TLO and redeeming burns it. A curator decides where the money goes, and Taler's valuation adapters cover lending positions on Aave V3 and Morpho Blue. Strategy actions pass through permission checks, NAV checks and circuit breakers. Redemptions are asynchronous: a request joins an epoch, the executor settles it, and the USDC is then claimed.

What TLO is used for

Holders use TLO to earn lending yield on dollars while keeping a transferable token. Through NEAR Intents it can also be swapped for other assets without waiting in the vault redemption queue.

TLO supply

There is no fixed supply. TLO is minted on deposit and burned on redemption, and vault fees are paid by minting new shares to fee recipients. The token uses 8 decimals.

Before you swap TLO

TLO is a yield-bearing vault share, not a stablecoin, so its price moves with the vault net asset value instead of holding exactly one dollar. Liquidity is limited, so check the quote before confirming.

What to know before swapping NEAR Protocol for TAU Lending Optimizer on Taler

Use the widget on this page, already set to NEAR on NEAR → TLO on Ethereum: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Ethereum address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the TLO to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
