How to convert OKB to Bitcoin

The widget above is already set to OKB on X Layer → BTC on Bitcoin. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect any EVM wallet such as OKX Wallet or MetaMask that holds your OKB. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on X Layer for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much OKB to swap and the Bitcoin address that receives the BTC, from any Bitcoin wallet. The widget shows how much BTC you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on X Layer, solvers fill the swap and the BTC is sent to your address on Bitcoin. If the swap can't be filled, your OKB is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds OKB to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the BTC to an exchange instead, check that it accepts BTC on Bitcoin: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the OKB → BTC swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your OKB leaves X Layer and BTC arrives on Bitcoin. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is BTC on Bitcoin, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both OKB and BTC float against the dollar, so the OKB/BTC rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About OKB and Bitcoin

What is OKB (OKB)?

OKB was launched in 2018 by OKX, then called OKEx, as the utility token of its exchange and was originally issued on Ethereum. In August 2025 OKX made it the only gas and native token of X Layer, its own Ethereum layer-2 network, and began phasing out the Ethereum version.

How OKB works

X Layer went live in April 2024 as a zkEVM built with Polygon's CDK. It has since moved to the OP Stack, a migration Optimism announced in December 2025, and now runs as an optimistic rollup with one-second blocks that settles to Ethereum through Polygon's AggLayer. Every transaction on X Layer pays its gas in OKB.

What OKB is used for

OKB covers gas fees on X Layer and serves as a base asset for the DeFi, payments and trading apps built there. On the OKX exchange it has long been tied to perks such as trading fee discounts.

OKB supply

In August 2025 OKX burned 65,256,712 OKB accumulated from past buybacks, upgraded the token contract to remove its mint and burn functions, and fixed the total supply at 21 million OKB. OKT, the coin of OKX's older OKTChain, was converted into OKB as that chain was retired.

Before you swap OKB

OKB here is the native coin of X Layer (chain ID 196), received at a standard 0x address. OKX no longer supports OKB withdrawals to Ethereum, so make sure the receiving wallet or exchange expects OKB on X Layer rather than the old ERC-20 version.

What is Bitcoin (BTC)?

Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency, described in a 2008 white paper by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto and brought to life when its network went live in January 2009. BTC is the native unit of that network and moves directly between users without a bank or payment processor in the middle.

How Bitcoin works

Miners compete to add blocks by running SHA-256 hashing hardware in a Proof of Work process, and the chain with the most accumulated work is treated as valid. Every full node independently checks each transaction against the rules, so the ledger's history becomes harder to alter with every block stacked on top.

What BTC is used for

Most holders treat BTC as a long-term store of value and a hedge outside the traditional financial system. It is also used for cross-border transfers, as collateral in lending markets, and as a base trading pair across the crypto industry.

BTC supply

The protocol limits total issuance to 21 million BTC. New coins enter circulation only as block rewards, and that reward is cut in half roughly every four years in an event known as the halving.

Before you swap BTC

Bitcoin blocks arrive about every ten minutes on average, so a BTC deposit can take noticeably longer to confirm than deposits on faster chains. Double-check the receiving address format before withdrawing, since Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed.

What to know before swapping OKB for Bitcoin

Use the widget on this page, already set to OKB on X Layer → BTC on Bitcoin: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Bitcoin address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the BTC to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
