What is Shitzu (SHITZU)?
SHITZU started on April Fools' Day 2022 as a meme token on Aurora, the EVM chain built on NEAR, and minting stayed open for only 24 hours. The community later moved it to NEAR mainnet, where the token contract token.0xshitzu.near was deployed in early 2024.

How Shitzu works
The token has no protocol behind it. The community runs projects around it through the ShitzuApes app, including the shitzu.pool.near validator, which pays stakers an extra token called DOGSHIT on top of normal NEAR staking rewards. It is also found on Solana and Base.
What SHITZU is used for
Holders mostly trade it as a NEAR community meme and take part in the ShitzuApes staking and social activities. The group also helped promote NEAR meme launches such as meme.cooking.
SHITZU supply
Supply is fixed at about 306.2 million SHITZU. The figure was set when the Aurora tokens moved to NEAR and is lower than the 576 million minted in the original 2022 event.
