How to convert Bitcoin to Aster

Converting BTC to ASTER on NEAR Mobile Swap is done in three simple steps through the NEAR Intents protocol: Deposit, Swap, and Withdraw.

Step 1 — Deposit BTC from Bitcoin
Go to the Deposit tab and select Bitcoin (BTC) on Bitcoin. The widget will generate a deposit address (or QR code) — send your BTC there from any wallet. Once the deposit is confirmed on Bitcoin, your BTC balance appears inside NEAR Intents.

Step 2 — Swap BTC to ASTER on NEAR Intents
Switch to the Swap tab, pick BTC as the source and ASTER as the target. Enter the amount and confirm — solvers compete to fill your order and the swap settles in seconds.

Step 3 — Withdraw ASTER to BNB Chain
Finally, go to the Withdraw tab. Select Aster (ASTER) from your NEAR Intents balance and choose BNB Chain as the destination. Enter an address from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Trust Wallet and confirm.

⚠ Important: When entering a withdrawal address, make sure it is a personal wallet you control. Some centralized exchanges do not support receiving funds from smart-contract-based deposits — sending to an exchange address may result in lost funds.

About the BTCASTER swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your BTC leaves Bitcoin and ASTER arrives on BNB Chain. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is ASTER on BNB Chain, not a wrapped copy you have to bridge again.

Both BTC and ASTER float against the dollar, so the BTC/ASTER rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About Bitcoin and Aster

What is Bitcoin (BTC)?

Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency, described in a 2008 white paper by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto and brought to life when its network went live in January 2009. BTC is the native unit of that network and moves directly between users without a bank or payment processor in the middle.

How Bitcoin works

Miners compete to add blocks by running SHA-256 hashing hardware in a Proof of Work process, and the chain with the most accumulated work is treated as valid. Every full node independently checks each transaction against the rules, so the ledger's history becomes harder to alter with every block stacked on top.

What BTC is used for

Most holders treat BTC as a long-term store of value and a hedge outside the traditional financial system. It is also used for cross-border transfers, as collateral in lending markets, and as a base trading pair across the crypto industry.

BTC supply

The protocol limits total issuance to 21 million BTC. New coins enter circulation only as block rewards, and that reward is cut in half roughly every four years in an event known as the halving.

Before you swap BTC

Bitcoin blocks arrive about every ten minutes on average, so a BTC deposit can take noticeably longer to confirm than deposits on faster chains. Double-check the receiving address format before withdrawing, since Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed.

What is Aster (ASTER)?

Aster formed from the late-2024 merger of Astherus, a yield platform, and APX Finance, a perpetual DEX, with APX holders able to convert into ASTER. The token went live on BNB Chain in September 2025.

How Aster works

Aster lets traders open leveraged perpetual positions from their own wallets across several chains, with a simple one-click mode and a professional order-book mode that includes features such as hidden orders. It also offers yield-bearing collateral products inherited from Astherus.

What ASTER is used for

ASTER is used for governance, trading incentives and fee-related programs on the exchange, and holders can take part in its reward campaigns. It is also widely traded as a speculative DeFi asset.

ASTER supply

Maximum supply is 8 billion ASTER, with a large share reserved for community and ecosystem incentives released over time.

Before you swap ASTER

ASTER arrives as a BEP-20 token on BNB Chain, so keep some BNB for gas. This is Aster (aster-2 on CoinGecko), unrelated to Astar Network's ASTR or other 'Aster' tickers.
