How to convert Bitcoin to Dash

The widget above is already set to BTC on Bitcoin → DASH on Dash. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect any Bitcoin wallet that holds your BTC. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on Bitcoin for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much BTC to swap and the Dash address that receives the DASH, from a Dash wallet such as DashPay or Dash Core. The widget shows how much DASH you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on Bitcoin, solvers fill the swap and the DASH is sent to your address on Dash. If the swap can't be filled, your BTC is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds BTC to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the DASH to an exchange instead, check that it accepts DASH on Dash: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the BTC → DASH swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your BTC leaves Bitcoin and DASH arrives on Dash. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is DASH on Dash, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Both BTC and DASH float against the dollar, so the BTC/DASH rate moves with two markets at once. Traders use this pair to rotate between ecosystems in a single step instead of selling to a stablecoin first.

About Bitcoin and Dash

What is Bitcoin (BTC)?

Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency, described in a 2008 white paper by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto and brought to life when its network went live in January 2009. BTC is the native unit of that network and moves directly between users without a bank or payment processor in the middle.

How Bitcoin works

Miners compete to add blocks by running SHA-256 hashing hardware in a Proof of Work process, and the chain with the most accumulated work is treated as valid. Every full node independently checks each transaction against the rules, so the ledger's history becomes harder to alter with every block stacked on top.

What BTC is used for

Most holders treat BTC as a long-term store of value and a hedge outside the traditional financial system. It is also used for cross-border transfers, as collateral in lending markets, and as a base trading pair across the crypto industry.

BTC supply

The protocol limits total issuance to 21 million BTC. New coins enter circulation only as block rewards, and that reward is cut in half roughly every four years in an event known as the halving.

Before you swap BTC

Bitcoin blocks arrive about every ten minutes on average, so a BTC deposit can take noticeably longer to confirm than deposits on faster chains. Double-check the receiving address format before withdrawing, since Bitcoin transactions cannot be reversed.

What is Dash (DASH)?

Dash was launched by Evan Duffield on 18 January 2014, first as XCoin and then as Darkcoin, before taking the name Dash, short for digital cash. It aims to be practical money for everyday payments, with features built around speed and optional privacy.

How Dash works

Miners secure Dash with X11 Proof of Work, targeting a block every two and a half minutes. A second tier of masternodes, each backed by 1,000 DASH, signs InstantSend locks that confirm payments within seconds and ChainLocks that protect against chain reorganizations. Evonodes, backed by 4,000 DASH, also run Dash Platform, a separate layer for usernames, data and, since 2025, tokens.

What DASH is used for

DASH is spent at merchants and through gift cards in the DashPay app, and masternode owners vote on which proposals the treasury funds. Optional CoinJoin mixing gives users more financial privacy.

DASH supply

Total supply will end up between 17.74 and 18.92 million DASH, as the block subsidy falls by about 7.14% each year. Twenty percent of every block subsidy goes to the treasury, and the rest is shared between miners and masternodes.

Before you swap DASH

Withdraw to a standard Dash address, which starts with X (or 7 for script addresses), rather than to a DashPay username. Dash blocks target two and a half minutes, so deposits usually confirm faster than on Bitcoin.
