How to convert OKB to USD Coin

The widget above is already set to OKB on X Layer → USDC on Ethereum. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect any EVM wallet such as OKX Wallet or MetaMask that holds your OKB. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on X Layer for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much OKB to swap and the Ethereum address that receives the USDC, from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. The widget shows how much USDC you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on X Layer, solvers fill the swap and the USDC is sent to your address on Ethereum. If the swap can't be filled, your OKB is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds OKB to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the USDC to an exchange instead, check that it accepts USDC on Ethereum: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the OKB → USDC swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your OKB leaves X Layer and USDC arrives on Ethereum. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is USDC on Ethereum, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

Swapping OKB to USDC converts a volatile asset into a dollar-pegged stablecoin, a common way to lock in a price or step out of market swings without off-ramping to a bank account.

About OKB and USD Coin

What is OKB (OKB)?

OKB was launched in 2018 by OKX, then called OKEx, as the utility token of its exchange and was originally issued on Ethereum. In August 2025 OKX made it the only gas and native token of X Layer, its own Ethereum layer-2 network, and began phasing out the Ethereum version.

Type
Gas token of an Ethereum layer-2
Launched
2018
Consensus
Optimistic rollup on the OP Stack (X Layer)
Max supply
21 million OKB (fixed since 2025)
Swap network

How OKB works

X Layer went live in April 2024 as a zkEVM built with Polygon's CDK. It has since moved to the OP Stack, a migration Optimism announced in December 2025, and now runs as an optimistic rollup with one-second blocks that settles to Ethereum through Polygon's AggLayer. Every transaction on X Layer pays its gas in OKB.

What OKB is used for

OKB covers gas fees on X Layer and serves as a base asset for the DeFi, payments and trading apps built there. On the OKX exchange it has long been tied to perks such as trading fee discounts.

OKB supply

In August 2025 OKX burned 65,256,712 OKB accumulated from past buybacks, upgraded the token contract to remove its mint and burn functions, and fixed the total supply at 21 million OKB. OKT, the coin of OKX's older OKTChain, was converted into OKB as that chain was retired.

Before you swap OKB

OKB here is the native coin of X Layer (chain ID 196), received at a standard 0x address. OKX no longer supports OKB withdrawals to Ethereum, so make sure the receiving wallet or exchange expects OKB on X Layer rather than the old ERC-20 version.

What is USD Coin (USDC)?

USDC is a US dollar stablecoin issued by Circle, first launched in September 2018 through the Centre consortium that Circle founded with Coinbase. Circle now manages the token directly, and USDC is issued natively on a range of blockchains, with Ethereum among the largest.

Type
Fiat-backed stablecoin

How USD Coin works

Each USDC is meant to be redeemable for one dollar, and Circle mints or burns tokens as institutional customers deposit or withdraw funds. Reserves are held in cash and short-dated US government obligations, largely through a dedicated fund, and Circle publishes regular reports on their composition.

What USDC is used for

USDC is widely used for settlement and payments, both in crypto markets and in business transfers that benefit from moving dollars at any hour. In decentralized finance it serves as a common unit for lending, liquidity pools and trading.

USDC supply

Supply is elastic: USDC is created when dollars are deposited and destroyed when it is redeemed. Circle aims to keep reserves equal to or greater than the amount of USDC in circulation.

Before you swap USDC

The widget defaults to USDC on Ethereum, but the same token also lives on Solana, NEAR, Base and other chains, so select the network your wallet actually uses. Beware of bridged versions with similar names, which are not the same as natively issued USDC.

What to know before swapping OKB for USD Coin

Use the widget on this page, already set to OKB on X Layer → USDC on Ethereum: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Ethereum address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the USDC to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
