How to convert USAD to USD Coin

The widget above is already set to USAD on Aleo → USDC on Ethereum. The whole swap runs in one flow through NEAR Intents:

Step 1: Choose how to pay
Connect an Aleo wallet such as Shield or FoxWallet that holds your USAD. Or turn on Swap from external wallet to get a deposit address and QR code you can pay from any wallet or exchange; you then add an address on Aleo for refunds.

Step 2: Enter the amount and where to receive
Type how much USAD to swap and the Ethereum address that receives the USDC, from any EVM wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. The widget shows how much USDC you will receive, fees included, before you confirm.

Step 3: Confirm and send
Approve the transfer in your wallet, or send the amount to the deposit address. Once it confirms on Aleo, solvers fill the swap and the USDC is sent to your address on Ethereum. If the swap can't be filled, your USAD is refunded.

Prefer to keep a balance inside NEAR Intents? The Deposit tab adds USAD to it, Swap trades within it, and Withdraw sends tokens out to their own networks.

⚠ Important: receive on an address you control. If you send the USDC to an exchange instead, check that it accepts USDC on Ethereum: some exchanges don't credit deposits that come from a smart contract.

About the USAD → USDC swap

This is a cross-chain swap: your USAD leaves Aleo and USDC arrives on Ethereum. Normally that takes a bridge plus a DEX, or a centralized exchange account. With NEAR Intents the deposit, swap and withdrawal happen in one flow, and what lands in your wallet is USDC on Ethereum, ready to use there with no second bridging step.

USAD and USDC are both dollar-pegged stablecoins, so the rate stays close to 1:1. People swap between them to move to the stablecoin a protocol or exchange accepts, or to change issuer or network without cashing out.

About USAD and USD Coin

What is USAD (USAD)?

USAD is a dollar stablecoin on Aleo, a zero-knowledge layer-1 blockchain, issued by Paxos Labs, a spinout of Paxos. The Aleo Network Foundation and Paxos Labs announced it in October 2025, its token program was deployed on Aleo mainnet in January 2026, and the public mainnet launch followed in February 2026.

How USAD works

USAD is created from USDG or USDC deposited on Ethereum and represented on Aleo as shares of an Ethereum vault holding USDG, the Global Dollar Network token issued by Paxos Trust Company. On Aleo, addresses, amounts and balances can stay encrypted, while a compliance service holds a view key for lawful requests and the token program enforces a freeze list.

What USAD is used for

The issuers pitch USAD at confidential payroll, business payments and treasury management, where companies do not want salaries or supplier terms visible on a public ledger. The payroll provider Toku uses it to pay teams privately.

USAD supply

There is no fixed cap. USAD is minted against deposits and redeemed for USDG on Ethereum, and the USDG behind it is backed by US dollar deposits and short-term Treasuries with monthly third-party attestations.

Before you swap USAD

USAD is delivered on Aleo, so you need an Aleo wallet such as Shield and a little ALEO for network fees. It targets the US dollar, so swaps from other dollar stablecoins should price close to parity, but liquidity is thinner than for USDC or USDT, so check the quote.

What is USD Coin (USDC)?

USDC is a US dollar stablecoin issued by Circle, first launched in September 2018 through the Centre consortium that Circle founded with Coinbase. Circle now manages the token directly, and USDC is issued natively on a range of blockchains, with Ethereum among the largest.

How USD Coin works

Each USDC is meant to be redeemable for one dollar, and Circle mints or burns tokens as institutional customers deposit or withdraw funds. Reserves are held in cash and short-dated US government obligations, largely through a dedicated fund, and Circle publishes regular reports on their composition.

What USDC is used for

USDC is widely used for settlement and payments, both in crypto markets and in business transfers that benefit from moving dollars at any hour. In decentralized finance it serves as a common unit for lending, liquidity pools and trading.

USDC supply

Supply is elastic: USDC is created when dollars are deposited and destroyed when it is redeemed. Circle aims to keep reserves equal to or greater than the amount of USDC in circulation.

Before you swap USDC

The widget defaults to USDC on Ethereum, but the same token also lives on Solana, NEAR, Base and other chains, so select the network your wallet actually uses. Beware of bridged versions with similar names, which are not the same as natively issued USDC.

What to know before swapping USAD for USD Coin

Use the widget on this page, already set to USAD on Aleo → USDC on Ethereum: connect your wallet or pay by QR code, enter the amount and your Ethereum address, and confirm. NEAR Intents swaps it and sends the USDC to that address in one flow, and the widget shows the exact amount you will receive before you confirm.
